Occupational Therapists treat and assist people living with disability, illness or injury to develop, recover, maintain or improve daily living skills through therapeutic activities. Their focus is promoting health and wellbeing by enabling people to participate in everyday living activities to the best of their ability. This can include adapting tasks through home modifications, assistive technology or vehicle modifications to ensure ease when performing daily tasks and to best empower a participant to engage from a higher level of independence.
Our Occupational Therapists are highly skilled allied health professionals that can assist in providing care to people living with significant or permanent disabilities to help them lead independent and healthy lives. Occupational therapists not only assist with physical rehabilitation, but also pain management and mental health. They can provide assistance to address a wide range of everyday life challenges from self-care related activities (showering, dressing, preparing food, etc) to engaging in education, work, community or social activities depending on the individual needs of a participant.
